BISA KDEI Reacts To The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards

After 3 solid years of entertaining music lovers with this lyrical prowess, Bisa Kdei, who has always cared less about awards has finally spoken about the rate at which Highlife music in Ghana is not appreciated.

Two days ago, 11th April 2015, giant award company, Charter House and Vodafone Ghana brought the 16th edition of Ghana Music Awards to over 25 million fans/citizens.

The show which according to viewers at home claim not to be that interesting since the quality of video, audio and image broadcasted to them were poor. However, for those of us at the auditorium of Accra Conference Center, the show was highly on point except for some one or two things that went wrong – which to me, these circumstances occur under almost every event organized any where in this world.

That was just by the way. Bisa Kdei was nominated under two categories at the just ended 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Award – Highlife Artiste Of The Year and HighLife Song Of The Year, with his Street anthem song, SAA.
Many fans of the Odo Carpenter man had voted for him and were expecting their entertainer to get credit for the fun and powerful messages he has sent to them over the years through his lyrics.

The first award under his category was given to Daddy Lumba, ie, Highlife Song Of The Year.

Fans had screamed out loud expecting Bisa to win that particular award but things didn't go the way they had projected for him.

Under the Highlife Artiste Of The Year category, when the nominees were protruded on screen, another huge scream was given when Bisa Kdei’s name got mentioned. This gave everyone a very profound feeling that Bisa is the man winning the Highlife Artiste Of The Year award.

Fans then got disappointed as they witnessed the award wasnt presented to their man (Bisa Kdei).

Social media users were unhappy about Bisa Kdei’s judgement, so the usual, they started debating about it on their various timelines.

Just few hours after the show has ended, Bisa Kdei posted a message on how Charter House and Ghana as a whole are underrating Highlife music which is of no doubt the only music genre that portrays more of the Ghanaian culture, tradition and our way of life – in other words, Highlife is Ghana.

Bisa Kdei has released countless highlife songs including Metanfo, Madanfo, Odo Carpenter, Saa, I Love You, Atomesu, to mention but few.

His successful featuring with top musicians include Sarkodie – Chingam, Efya – One Of Your Own, Keche – Diabetes, DeeVs – Yebeko, Criss Waddle – AYI, Obrafour – Pimpinaa and a lot more.

Bisa Kdei posted – Highlife is underrated. ‪#‎vgma‬ ‪#‎charterhouse‬ ‪#‎ghana‬
