Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs made the revelation Wednesday morning on Accra-based radio station Peace FM.
"It is true that Abeiku Santana will contest the NDC primary for the Mfanteman West seat," he said.
The host of Okay FM's ‘Ekwanso Dwodwoo’ also confirmed his interest in the seat when parliamentary primaries open.
It is "indeed true" Abeiku said in an interview with Peace FM.
He is expected to make an official statement soon.
Abeiku Santana showed his political allegiance to the NDC when he campaigned for President Mahama in the 2012 presidential election.
His intention adds to the number of media personalities who have expressed interest in becoming MPs.
Former Joy FM Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has confirmed he will vie for the Ofoase Ayirebi seat in the Eastern region.
Speculations are also mounting that TV Africa presenter and senior journalist Christian Ohene Amoadu will announce his interest in the Suhum constituency in the Eastern region.
According to the speculations, he will stand on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
