Stonebwoy loses on MTV EMAs 2015 nomination
Ghana's Dancehall artiste recently awarded BET Best International Act, Africa Stonebwoy has lost out on his chance to become the fifth nominee for this year's Best African Act category at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) 2015.
Stonebwoy lost to DJ Arafat from Côte d'Ivoire who makes music of the Coupé-Décalé genre.
DJ Arafat will now be competing against AKA from South Africa, Yemi Alade from Nigeria, Davido also from Nigeria and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania for the Best African Act category at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Taylor Swift has the most nominations (9) at the award scheme, followed by Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.
The awards will take place on Sunday October 25, 2015 at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy.
The MTV Europe Music Awards is an event presented by MTV Networks Europe which awards prizes to musicians and performers. It is voted by viewers.
The first EMAs ceremony was held in 1994 in Berlin, Germany.
