Speaking at the launch of the center, the Chief Executive Officer of Acacia Health Insurance, DR. DAN V. ARMOOH said, this vision mooted the idea of establishing a health insurance company, inherent in the vision was the provision of healthcare services to all of its enrolls.
According to him, Acacia Health Insurance "sells a promise".
"I sell Health insurance. Health insurance is not a product and in the strictest sense of the word, it is not even a service. It is a promise sold on a card, bought with Trust.
Trust that when a bearer of the card is sick and needs health care, the care will be available to him at the time of need.
Trust that when the bearer assesses the healthcare, the bill will be taken up and promptly paid by Acacia Health Insurance.
Trust that when a bearer needs medical advice regarding a procedure they are required to undergo, the medical board of Acacia health will give him the best medical advice to facilitate that decision. In simple terms, I sell a promise!".
Many a time, patients have questioned the quality of service offered them when they visit health facilities but according to the CEO, their aim is to see their patient walk out of their health centre with smiles on their faces. He made this statement known when addressing the audience at the launch of the medical centre.
"But many times I have heard my clients come back with sad stories of poor service provision from some of our third party service providers. Stories of failed promises. We are in no way going to build 430 hospitals for our clients but will continue to walk this path, arm in arm with all our service providers. But today we are here to witness the opening of that one medical centre that will provide our clients the promise they buy on our card, just the way we sell it. If any service provider will fail an ACACIA card holder, it definitely will not be ACACIA MEDICAL CENTRE. We have thought through the needs of our clients are providing a solution fit for purpose!
What we are seeing today is many months of prayer, hard work, team work and dedication. I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of this project especially to Mawuena and Haruna of LMG consult who put flesh to the vision.
Though we celebrate today, we will not count ourselves as having achieved until each patient who walks through those doors walks out with a smile on their face. A smile because they have been attended to by healthcare professionals who have a heart, a sense of compassion and a willingness to preserve the dignity of humanity.
The notable face at the event were songstress Rebecca Acheampong popularly known as BECCA, Television Host Stacy Amoateng and a host of others.
Acacia Health Insurance seeks to achieve the possibility of having all corporate firms in Ghana hold the Acacia Health card so they can service them better.
