Becca speaks at UN Summit on SDGs
Prior to her appearance at the Central Park concert, Saturday,
September 26, Becca joined a lineup of top performers at an exclusive
event for Richard Branson’s Virgin Unite Foundation.
The event, a UN Summit on Sustainable Developemet Goals (SDGs) was attended by some of the most powerful people on earth.
Becca was the only African artiste to be at the opening press conference alongside CEOs of Ericsson, and Wikipedia among others.
Tonight, Becca will perform at Richard Branson’s Virgin Charity Cocktail and will go on to mount the stage of the Global Citizens Concert tomorrow with a few African artiste. She will be doing the Tell Everybody song which features Sarkodie, Yemi Alade of Nigeria, Mafikizolo of South Africa and Sauti Sol of Kenya.
The Global Goals Citizens campaign involves a plan to end extreme poverty, tackle inequality and reduce the impact of climate change by 2030.
This agenda is championed by a group of activists led by the film-maker Richard Curtis, whose Project Everyone initiative – run in partnership with the campaign groups action/2015 and Global Citizen – aims to reach 7 billion in seven days. The whole idea is to push for the full implementation of the agenda by “making the goals famous”.
