I Started GUBA from My Home - Dentaa of GUBA
Dentaa Amoateng the CEO & Founder of the Ghana UK Based Achievement(GUBA) Awards has disclosed that, GUBA Awards, started from her home. Speaking on Starr Drive on Starr FM in Accra,Ghana, she Dentaa appreciated her husband for coming up with a such great idea and today it has become a great event.
"GUBA, started from our home; let me give credit to my husband because he brought the idea for us to award and appreciated Ghanaians doing great things in the UK. We started it and had our first meeting in our home with sixteen people" said Dentaa.
Dentaa continues,"There are many Ghanaians living in the UK and are doing great things and they need to be recognized and appreciated. So GUBA makes this possible. It shows that we as Ghanaians in the UK have role models and people we will like to aspire to be".
Dentaa Amoateng went ahead to thank the British High Commissioner to Ghana H.E. Jon Benjamin for the support given all these years.
GUBA will be witnessing the her 5th edition on the 4th of July in London.
The Ghana UK Based Achievement(GUBA) Awards is a prestigious annual awards ceremony inaygurated in October 2010. The event is held held to showcase and celebrate excellence and achievement within the British Ghanaian community and also the outstanding and valuable services provided to Ghanaians in the UK and Ghana.
The 5th edition was launched in London some week ago and was launched in Ghana last week friday at the Residence of the British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Jon Benjamin.
This year's edition was launch alongside the GUBA FOUNDATION which is focused on Jamestown, a town in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. #PROJECTJAMESTOWN will tackle the sanitation and health issue in the community.
Jamestown is a town that has alot of link with the British colony.
