CELEBS Vrs POLITICIANS:#DumsorMustStop:“If you call Mahama a liar and someone insults you, what is wrong with it? Appiah Stadium to Yvonne Nelson
Popular serial caller for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Appiah Stadium has admitted calling actress Yvonne Nelson "ashawo" on phone for her #Dumsormuststop campaign and has also refused to render an apology.
“If you call Mahama a liar and someone insults you, what is wrong with it", Kumasi-based serial caller, Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium has justified the reason he called Yvonne Nelson a prostitute.
He said he gave the actress a dose of her own medicine after calling President John Mahama on BBC a lair.
“If you call Mahama a liar and someone insults you, what is wrong with it?, he quizzed.
On Asempa FM recently, Appiah Stadium said the actress is creating a mountain out of a mole hill.
In his view, Yvonne Nelson whom he claims has gone into hibernation in the movie industry wants to capitalise on his [Appiah Stadium] popularity to re-launch her career.
Actress, Yvonne has incurred the wrath of ardent followers of the ruling party after he launched her campaign, #Dumsormuststop on social media.
The attacks has worsened after she together with rapper Sarkodie and other artistes in the showbiz industry decided to hold a dumsor vigil on May 16, 2015 to put pressure on government to end the worsening power crisis.
But most members and sympathizers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) claim they are doing the bidden of their pay masters in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In support, Appiah Stadium urged the “so-called celebrities” to show their political colours “so that we can match them boot-for-boot.
He alleged that the dumsor vigil is being sponsored by the NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.
“I have evidence to prove that they collected money from Nana Akufo-Addo for the vigil; they should dare me and I will produce pictures to prove,” he warned.
Appiah Stadium wondered why some people are making ugly noises about the power crisis when in 2007 under the NPP; the country went into a similar challenge.
“Anyone who insults Mahama must be ready to face me because I will defend him till I die,” he added. Appiah Stadium said he will only apologise to Yvonne Nelson if she also render an unqualified apology to President Mahama for calling him a liar.
