WORLD FAMOUS ‘MISS INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT’ MAKES ENTRY INTO GHANA!!!!
Ranked fourth (4th) most prestigious beauty pageant in terms of the number of national-level competitions to participate in the world finals and one of the most publicized beauty contests in the world, the Miss International Pageant makes a glamorous entry into Ghana.
The
national competition dubbed, “Miss International
Ghana Pageant” begins its process of selecting
contestants for the finale with auditions on the 13th of June at Tulip Inn Hotel, Teteh
Quarshie roundabout in Accra, then to the Eastern Regional Capital, Koforidua
on the 20th of June and ends in Kumasi on the 27th June 2015. (Venues for the Koforidua
and Kumasi auditions will be confirmed later)
Miss
International Ghana 2015 winner will embark on a number of Social intervention
projects in Ghana for a year as a personal development and social
responsibility effort and to adequately prepare to compete with fellow Crowned
Queens from other countries around the globe for the coveted Miss International
Pageant Crown.
Organizers
of the Miss International Ghana Pageant, Save the earth movement and Harlem
world entertainment are upbeat about the need for Ghana to participate in this
pageant since the aim of the pageant seeks to preach peaceful co-existence and
other positive values in Ghana as well as sell the culture and way of life of
the Ghanaian people to the international community.
Outlining
the process of participation for potential ladies, Chairman of the Organization,
Nana Mensah said, “Prospective contestants should whats App
their names to the number, 0540-480-390 to be part of the Miss International
Ghana 2015 or come to the audition venue to on 13th June 2015.”
In
an exclusive interview, Co-chair of the Organization, Maame Yaa Kyekye Tete, a
former Beauty Queen who is also the Executive Director for Save the Earth
Movement (STEM) Ghana added,
“After the auditions, more on the
pageant finale will be disclosed at a media launch where we will also outdoor
the finalists.”
She
appealed to young ladies between the ages of 18 to 25 years with sound body and
mind to take advantage of this one of a kind life time opportunity to develop their
careers to excel in life.
The
world event, Miss International Pageant which is also referred to as The
International Beauty Pageant is an annual contest and has been in existence
since 1960.
The
pageant was created in Long
Beach, California,
USA in 1960 after the departure of the Miss Universe pageant to Miami
Beach.
Hosted in Long Beach until 1967, the pageant moved to Japan from 1968–1970, being hosted each year in the
same city as the Expo '70. For 1971 and 1972, it was held in
Long Beach again, but since that time it has been held annually in Japan.
Crowned
Queens are expected to serve as "Ambassadors of Peace and Beauty",
demonstrating tenderness, benevolence, friendship, beauty, intelligence,
ability to take action, and, most importantly, a great international
sensibility. The ultimate goal of the Miss International beauty pageant is to
promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding.
The
current Miss International Pageant Queen (2014), Valerie Hernandez hails from
Puerto Rico.
