Some of the best music moments would occur during the festival with the biggest names in authentic indigenous Ghanaian music lined up to perform throughout the week.
The MOGO Festival begins with the Accra Music Expo at Mantse Agbonaa on Saturday March 21st with some of the best indigenous Ga bands and musicians as well as a hotly contested ‘Jama’ Competition.
On Sunday March 22nd, ten deceased musicians will be remembered and honored at a special MOGO Memorial Service. The event is to immortalize the musicians and honor them for the contributions to Ghanaian music. The late musicians to be honored at the Memorial Service are Dr. K. Gyasi, Dr. Paa Bobo, P. K. Nyamoah, Rev. Kusi Berko, Terry Bonchaka, Mac Tontoh (Osibisa), Jerry Hansen (Ramblers), Ampofo Agyei, Michael Dwamena and Alex Konadu.
Some living legends will also be honored at a special event dubbed the 3 Nights with Highlife Greats. An exceptional musician will be hosted by 97.3 Citi FM from 23rd March to Wednesday 24th March at the plush Alisa Hotel.
The MOGO Festival will be climaxed on Saturday March 28 with the MOGO Awards at the Accra International Conference Center. Paapa Yankson, Adane Best, Pat Thomas, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Okyeame Kwame, Samuel Owusu and the Ramblers Internatizonal Band.
Ten individuals or groups will walk home with one of the prestigious MOGO Awards 2015 on the night. The MOGO Festival 2015 is powered by 97.3 Citi FM.
