YouTube Comedy star Kalybos was arrested in China some weeks ago while shooting his first major title ‘Kalybos in China’, KOFAS Media, producers of the movie have said. His crime? For flouting permit regulations. The movie’s director, Kofi Asamoah, was also arrested when the crew went out to shoot at a location that played host to a major Chinese festival.
To make matters worse, the Ghanaian crew from KOFAS Media didn’t have the services of a Chinese escort to take them round the planned locations save for the few local hands that helped them on set.
They were quizzed by the Metropolitan Police and subsequently allowed to shoot. Kalybos in China premieres at the West Hills Mall in Accra on April 3. It stars some of local movie’s biggest names.
