Silver Rain movie hits DSTV BoxOffice this July

Silver Rain movie has made the cut to be on the highly competitive DSTV BoxOffice platform this month of July.

Given how difficult it has been for African movies to make it on the platform since its inception, one would say the Juliet Asante produced film has chalked yet another big success.

The DSTV BoxOffice is a service that allows premium subscribers to conveniently rent, keep, and watch the latest blockbuster movies for up to 48 hours in the comfort of their homes, right on their DStv Explora decoders for a fee.

The service gives subscribers access to a wide variety of “top rated” movies from comedy, drama, family movies, horror, fantasy, and a whole lot more.

There is a choice of up to 20 movies at any point in time and each movie’s availability will vary depending on consumer popularity and availability of new movie releases from the studios.

During the launch of the BoxOffice service in Ghana in August 2014, Multichoice challenged the “ever developing and dynamic film industry in Ghana to produce the best quality films” in order to make it onto the “very tight and competitive” platform.

The producer and director of Silver Rain, Juliet Asante, has made that mark.

The creative entertainer is noted for stressing the need for quality packaging of movies.

“The thing is people don’t realise it is serious business. When you are doing entertainment, you have to see it as a business, you have to package it well, and you have to approach the right people. As film makers we have to do our part, package it well, speak the language, talk about the return on investments, talk about how you intend to distribute. All of those things are critical,” she advised in an earlier interview with Starr Entertainment.

The Pan-African movie has chalked many successes since its launch four months ago and has recently been accepted into the #‎EkoInternationalFilmFestival‬ in Nigeria.
