Creative arts industry donates to 37 Military Hospital & Korle Bu Hospital

Creative Arts Industry practitioners led by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Honorable Dzifa Gomashie, on Tuesday June 9, 2015 visited and donated to two hospitals in the country.

The practitioners who were made up of both new, active and old movie practitioners and musicians first visited the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital to interact with the health practitioners who are currently taking care of the victims of the Wednesday’s June 3 Goil Fuel Station accident that claimed over 100 lives.

The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the team was told that even though, Ghanaians from all walks of life have come to make donations to the victims, a great chunk of what has been donated to the health facility are not what the victims needs now.

“We need to buy antibiotics, we need to buy something for pains, we need to get them fluids. People bring things but that’s not what we use at all, so it’s a waste, unfortunately. We NEED MONEY to get those things. We need money to be able to cater for them,” Dr. Nsafo said.

The Deputy Minister who led the team said the team was visiting the hospital to sympathize with the victims of the inferno and also thank the doctors for what they are doing for Mother Ghana.

“We are here to commiserate with them and to wish them well and to applaud you all for what you are doing for Mother Ghana and to tell them that they are in our thoughts and our prayers. So that’s why we came, we would be visiting a few more people and then talk to the leadership of the hospital. Thank you so much for what you are doing,” she said.

Actress and television personality, Sellasie Ibrahim presented an unspecified amount of money to the two health facilities.

The event was witnessed by Sellasie Ibrahim, Kalsum Sinare, Funny Face, Samuel Odoi Mensah, Abeiku Sagoe, Wakefield Acuaku, Ekow Smith Asante, Bill Asamoah, Roselyn Ngissah, Bice Osei Kufour, Irene Opare, Eunice Banini, Stone Flowking, Henry Harding, Akorfa Asiedu-Ejeani, Pascaline Edwards, Dan Tei Mensah, Edinam Atatsi, Ziggy Netteyson, Salinko, Mr Beautiful, Rev Eddie Coffie, Sidney among others.
