Addressing the press after the exercise, Asamoah Gyan said the move was another initiative by his foundation, with support from Zoomlion, to whip up public interest in ensuring environmental cleanliness.
He urged the public to refrain from disposing of rubbish indiscriminately and impressed on all to periodically clean their environment to prevent the occurrence of diseases and disasters.

The Communications Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mr Robert Coleman, said the company received a request from the Asamoah Gyan Foundation to assist it to clean up the area.
He said Zoomlion was helping the Asamoah Gyan Foundation to fine-tune its proposal for the exercise to be replicated in other parts of the country, especially in the various districts, to complement programmes by the assemblies to clean the environment.
