School Disowns Actress Princess Shyngle

Princess Christian ShyngleAuthorities of Accra Film School, a private institute that provides training in filmmaking, have refused to acknowledge or maintain any connection with stunning actress Princess Christian Shyngle, despite media reports that she is a student of the school.

Shyngle, a Ghana-based Gambian actress with breath-taking curves, has been described by several news reports including online news sites, newspapers and radio stations as someone who is “currently studying Film Directing at the Accra Film School at East Legon.”

When NEWS-ONE visited the Accra Film School on Monday to look for Shyngle, authorities there expressed frustration at the number of persons who had trooped to the school in search of her.

“Our school registers and academic records do not have anything on the actress you are looking for. None of our lecturers knows her as a student here, yet for the past two weeks we continue to get calls and visitors who say they are looking for this same lady, Princess Shyngle, and that they read in the papers she is a student here.

“Our school runs the course she was reported to be studying but we have checked through that class, the camera class, production class, directing class, presenting class and animation class and she is nowhere to be found. Perhaps it is time we made it public that she is not a student here because it is becoming clear there is some misinformation out there directing people here,” Rex Anthony Annan, head of the school told NEWS-ONE.
Mr Anthony Annan said the journalists either committed a genuine mistake with the name of the school or someone deliberately decided to put out wrong information.

“She is a beautiful actress and we would have loved to have her here. But she is not here. If she were a student here, we would have known. Her physical features cannot be mistaken. We have several ladies similar to her in appearance and someone may have mistaken her identity. But to set the records straight, she is currently not a student here, she has never been a student here, she has not picked forms to be a student here and we cannot tell whether she has plans of coming here,” Mr Anthony Annan added.
The 24-year-old Shyngle recently hit the news headlines when she was reported to have called on her potential male suitors to muster courage and approach her and not be scared of her shape.
She was reported to have explained why her last relationship did not work out.
“My last relationship failed because my partner had trust issues and felt insecure because of the nature of my job and the number of people I interacted with on a daily basis. Right now, I am focused on my career and due to my busy schedule, I don’t have much time to dedicate to a relationship,” she said.
The reports further quoted Shyngle: “I want people to see me beyond my body. I want them to see me as intelligent, smart and talented. I worked for Coca-Cola, which is a global brand, at the age of 18 and I was head of Key Accounts, Business Development and Sponsorship.
“I exercise every single day. I don’t have to go to the gym but I make sure I do my sit-ups at home. I drink my green tea, warm water and lemon every day and I am always on diet. Naturally, I have always been curvy. The slim waist is the result of waist training but the figure is God-given,” she said.

BET African Adjudicator Defends BET For Giving African Acts Awards in Empty Hall

StonebwoyIt is well known that for the past few years, BET has been awarding African acts their award in front of an empty hall ahead of the main event.
What’s even worse? The Best International Act – Africa is not televised in the United States either. Ghanacelebrities.com spoke to KKD, an African Adjudicators for BET’s International Acts – Africa, and he defended the giving of the awards in front of no audience. He says,
"First, BET is a huge American brand so their audience is Americans or people living in America. They have a responsibility to their audience, to generate income, pay taxes to the government of America, create employment, promote artistes or performers with their culture, and to be competitive in their market.
Because of all these, they won’t lose what we call ‘the battle for the eye ball.’ So BET is doing us good by giving us (Africans) nominations or awards in their award scheme. BET may create opportunities for Africans by giving us nomination or award, recognize us for our culture or learn from them, but they do not see us as superior over theirs! They give recognition and praise to their best thinkers, creators, manufacturers, etc. Already, we don’t see our artistes or musicians as big! We see artistes in UK or America as bigger than our own, so the point is, in as much as we don’t see the greatness in our own; we shouldn’t expect others to see them as such!
Besides, not all awards are given on stage in this world. It happens at the OSCARS. I’m not justifying BET’s actions anyway. I’ve raised concerns on this issue before at BET’s jury meetings many times. I hope the status quo may change someday. All great cultures, appreciates their own! Let’s start believing and celebrating our own and others will follow suit".
According to him, African acts should use the opportunity to network with foreign acts instead,
"Book a flight, book a hotel and fly all the way to America. It may not necessarily be about the award, but the artiste can use the privilege to build link, network, or collaborate with producers, artistes, media outfits, distribution and marketing outfits, etc".

Yemi Alade also "Slams" BET over "Backstage" Awards

Just yesterday, Ghanaian born UK based musician FUSE ODG slam the organisers of the BET Awards for what he calls disrespectfulness to their (musicians) hardwork and achievements due to the fact that, International Acts category of the awards is received backstage and not on the main stage.

As if that is not enough, Nigerian female artiste, Yemi Alade has also thrown the same stone to BET Organisers.

The "Johnny" hitmaker lashed out her anger on the organisers via her IG Handle though she was a nominee for the Best International Act Africa category which was won by Ghanaian Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

Winners of the International Act categoryies are awarded hours before the main event and this doesnot taste good for the artistes who are nominated.
Yemi sees this as humiliation on the African artistes and concluded that "If African artists are not worthy in your sight, please by all means Cancel, Delete, Ommit the Best International Act (Africa) Category out of the glorified Award".

Read her message:

"By the way…@bet_intl AFRICA IS NOT A COUNTRY.!!! ..IT IS WRONG TO NOMINATE HUGE AFRICAN STARS AND PUBLICLY TRY TO HUMILIATE AFRICA.WHY ON EARTH IS THE AFRICAN CATEGORY OF THE AWARDS HELD HOURS BEFORE THE “MAIN EVENT? IF AFRICAN ARTISTS ARE NOT WORTHY IN YOUR SIGHT.”

“PLS BY ALL MEANS CANCEL,DELETE,OMMIT THE “BEST INTERNATIONAL ACT (AFRICA) CATEGORY OUT OF THIS GLORIFIED AWARD. THIS IS WRONG! !! WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.”

“Mainwhile… PLS NEXT TIME,CREDIBILITY OVER PADDYPADDY!! CREDIBILITY !!”
