Miss Ghana to be launched After All the Controversies last Year
The management of Exclusive Events Company Limited, organisers of the
Miss Ghana beauty pageant say the company has risen above the
controversy that rocked last year’s event and is ready to launch the
2015 edition of the popular beauty show tomorrow.
Last year’s queen, Guiseppina Baafi, relinquished the crown following an alleged spat with the organisers over what is still not very clear to the public.
The second runner-up, Nadia Ntanu, was later given the crown to continue with the Miss Ghana 2014 projects. She also represented Ghana at the Miss World 2014 event in London.
The Managing Director of Exclusive Events, Ms Inna Mariam Patty, told Showbiz yesterday that, “We have put last year’s controversy behind us and have put our best foot forward to, once again, give a good platform to young Ghanaian women to develop their talents and also build solid social networks that will guarantee a better future for them”.
“During the organisation of pageants around the world, some controversies crop up once in a while, and I must say that we have learnt our lessons from what happened last year, which have given us what it takes to run a smooth and exciting pageant that will meet our objective of helping young ladies to get a head-start in life,” she said.
She said she will give full details of this year’s programme at the launch which comes off at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Airport, Accra.
She, however, hinted that the prize package will be a mouth-watering one and therefore invited bold, beautiful and intelligent young ladies to prepare for the auditions which will begin shortly after the launch.
