Shocking Revelations: The Story of a Man Who is a Slave since Birth

I don't get it! I just don't get it! How can a people hate themselves so much that they allow themselves to imbibe theories that cast aspersions at their history, their origin and their ancestors?

Being called Nze, Ozo, Ichie, Nana, Lolo, is so wrong, but you are happy to be called Knight, Sir, Count, Countess. The Oba of Benin or Asantehene cannot touch you or bless you, but you are happy to be Knighted by the Queen of England. Corporate has stopped meaning "to be business-like in your outlook" and now means wearing a suit even under the hottest weather conditions of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Table etiquette is when you avoid the barbaric behavior of eating with your bare hands/fingers, and not talking while you are on the dining table. Yet they say that most of the biggest business deals of the 21st century have been sealed over meals - No be talk dem go talk to seal am?

To drink palmwine is a sin but red wine (which contains as much as 15% alcohol) is used for communion, while the hypocrites and the ignorant happily lift up holy hands half drunk.

You say that couples who have been married under the custom of their people are living in sin because they have not gone to perform a 5,000 to 10,000 dollar ritual typical of another man's culture?
Barney, elf and fairy godmother are learning tools, but the masquerade from your village is an occultic symbol.
You celebrate Xmas but you cannot and will not celebrate the new yam festival. Now Halloween has been celebrated in Ghana for the 4th consecutive year...

How long o Africa?! How long?! How long will you diss the history and achievements of your fathers? When will you stop making yourselves second class?

If there's anything that is meant to be corrected, let us correct it. But stop acting like our ancestors were failures.
We need ‪#‎RevivalInTheLand‬! ‪#‎Stillgrowing‬

Reader's Mail: X Factor “JOKES” turned “UNDERDOGS”

“JOKES” so they say but one cannot deny the fact that Reggie N Bollie formally Men on Point are slowly but surely making strides in the X Factor fraternity. Since their appearance on the X Factor stage, I have heard a lot of people including CELEBRITIES like Chantelle, Caroline and Jessica on their CELEBRITY FUN ZONE platform and others on different platforms call them “JOKES” of this year’s competition.
But after watching their performances I beg to differ. They might not be the best of singers I agree, but do they have the X Factor? In my view, YES they do.

I have always known Reggie Zippy as one Ghanaian artiste with a very unique voice and strong presence. And for his group mate Bollie, it’s all about the crazy dance moves and the fun he attach to his craft. One can’t deny the fact that they are on the lips and pages of every Ghanaian and blogger I know and even the international media is blowing up on the duo for the fun, passion and energy they brought up on the X Factor stage. Call me weird! But funny enough I saw what the X Factor judges saw in them as I watched their auditions; that is, something DIFFERENT. Period!

Over the years, I have followed X Factor for sometime and I will admit that I don’t always agree with some of their decisions but for a group or individual to make it to the live shows after all the stages they have to pass through, I think we should cut them some slag, applaud and support our own.  We say this lot of times “Support our Own” and it’s becoming a CLICHÉ but it is the fact. Groups like FIFTH HARMONY and LITTLE MIX who were all put together after not qualifying earlier-on during audition stage, later on became UNDERDOGS of the competition and went on to WIN.

So can the “UNDERDOGS” Reggie N Bollie win? Call me crazy but WHY NOT! These entertainers are testing new waters and we sit here and claim they are “jokes” just because some international media outlets think so or what they are attempting is out of the status quo. Let’s not be stereotypical because in one way or another, not everyone will put the name of Ghana out there by winning a BET AWARD or smuggle NARCOTICS. So the least we can do is support since I know Ghanaians are allergic to VOTING!

Are they ready for the LIVE SHOWS? I think YES. All you need for a show like X Factor is “the X factor” passion and talent. And I think Reggie N Bollie  aka Menn on Point got it!

Tourism Dev’t Fund accrues GH₵15.4m

The Ministry of Tourism is reporting that remittances into the country’s Tourism Development Fund have accrued to the sum of GH₵15,498,860.78.

The sector Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, who briefed Parliament about the status of the Tourism Development Fund in Accra on Tuesday, said the amount was recorded from November 2012 to October 31, 2015.

She told members that in order to rake in more money for the State, the process of certification for the 1% Tourism Levy and its scope in now being expanded to cover all the enterprises that have been enumerated in a Schedule to the Act 817, 2011.
Measures, she said, have also been put in place to ensure that all the certificated enterprises, mandated to charge and collect the 1% Tourism Levy are complying and making accurate and full disclosure into the Fund.

She was reponsding to a question posed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh on how much has accrued into the Tourism Development Fund from October 2012 to date.
The 1% Tourism Levy, as embodied in the Tourism Act (Act 817) became operation following the enactment of the Legislative Instrument (L.I. 2185,2012).

The process began with progressive registration and certification of accommodation and catering establishments in phases after a nationwide stakeholder engagement to sensitize them on the 1% Toursim Levy in October 2012.

Official: Adele Breaks *NSYNC's Single-Week U.S. Album Sales Record

It’s confirmed. Adele’s 25 has broken the single-week U.S. album sales record, according to Nielsen Music.

After processing the first sales reports from Monday, Nov. 23, the album has already sold at least 2,433,000 in pure album sales in slightly more than three days. That sum beats the single-week record for an album since Nielsen began tracking sales in 1991, set by *NSYNC’s No Strings Attached, when it debuted with 2,416,000 in the week ending March 26, 2000.

Nielsen Music began tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991. Prior to 1991, there was no authoritative music sales tracking service in the U.S. and thus, it was mostly unknown how many copies of an album or song/single were sold in a single week.

''25'' was released on Nov. 20 through XL/Columbia Records. Yesterday (Nov. 23), Nielsen reported that 25 had sold at least 2.3 million copies in its first three days of release (through Nov. 22).
With more than three days left in the sales tracking week (as it ends at the close of business on Thursday, Nov. 26), the sales figure for 25 will grow larger. Presently, industry forecasters suggest the album could finish the week with 2.9 million sold. Billboard is scheduled to report 25's debut week sales on Sunday, Nov. 29, once Nielsen has finished processing its weekly data.

Adele's New album "25" sells 2.3million copies in 3 days

Adele’s third album, 25, is more than likely going to smash the single-week sales record for an album after selling 2.3 million copies in its first three days of release, according to Nielsen Music. Its updated one-week forecast: 2.9 million.

Billboard reports that 25’s three-day bow marks only the second time an album has sold over 2 million copies in a single week since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. Once again: 25 passed 2 million sold in not just one week, but three days.

The single-week sales record is currently held by *N SYNC, whose No Strings Attached moved 2.41 million copies in its debut sales week in 2000. Adele is about to make the best-selling boy band say “Bye, Bye, Bye” to one of its biggest chart feats.

Since 25 was released on Friday (for sale, not for streaming), Adele has appeared on Saturday Night Live, and been parodied by Saturday Night Live. Meanwhile, “Hello” remains No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart for a fourth straight week

John Dumelo spotted on the NDC campaign train

Award-winning Ghanaian movie star John Dumelo was conspicuously visible at the Jubilee Park in the Volta region as supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) gathered to round off a campaign dubbed: “Changing Lives, Transforming Ghana.”

The “Adams Apples” star was spotted on national television sitting with the top guns of the ruling party as sitting president John Dramani Mahama rallies support at the NDC ‘World Bank’ ahead of a nationwide
parliamentary and presidential primaries Saturday, November 21.

Unlike his colleague actor and comedian Papa Nii, who was draped in a Mahama T-shirt with a white trouser to match, Dumelo was in a smart informal outfit but with a miniature NDC flag in hand waving at the cheery crowd.

Dumelo, who is a philanthropist, has a soft spot for the ruling NDC. He did a radio commercial for the party ahead of the 2012 elections. In May, this year, he hinted he will be joining the campaign trail of the party in a statement clarifying an interview he granted Starr 103.5FM.
“Yes I did a tv commercial for the NDC in 2012 because I loved the message they preached. I must state here that it was purely voluntary. I wasn’t paid for that and I wasn’t expected to be paid for that. I did it for the love of the country.

“I also said on starr fm that if in 2016, any party preaches what will benefit the country I won’t mind joining that bandwagon. Be it NPP, Cpp or PPP.”
Entertainment pundits have predicted the screen god will one day run on the ticket of the NDC as a parliamentarian and might be using his intermittent appearances at such gatherings to whip up support.
